This is our 4th year and to date we have counted 1854 butterflies, Please come out and help us increase our count numbers.

Butterfly counts are a way to monitor butterfly populations, raise public awareness and spend some time with other butterfly enthusiast. Learn about local parks and nature areas.

Butterfly counts are a good way to gauge the health of our gardens and our local environment for pollinators to ensure sustainable food sourcing in our area. The data collected at our counts is submitted for scientific research through several databases and tracked year over year.

We are up to 40 unique species of butterflies have been observed during previous counts. Collier County has about 80 documented butterflies, so we still have a ways to go.
